Swimmers Finish Strong at Silver/Bronze Championships

It was an exciting weekend of swimming at the NJ Swimming Silver/Bronze Championships at Berkeley Aquatics in New Providence. Our 28 attending swimmers rocked the blocks!

Our Barracudas had 89 splashes over the weekend, with 52 (58%) of them being Personal Best (LC) times! Of those, 10 exceeded 5 seconds of improvement. Some of these swims were by Zach Bezold in the 200 Breast (-7.37); Ryan Juckett in the 100 Breast (-25.96); Jonathan Kern in the 50 Free (-5.68); Nathaniel Kern in the 100 Fly (-11.97); Jessica Kiederling in the 50 Free (-10.18); Michael Rizzo in the 400 Free AND 400 IM (both -8.99); Sean Sharma in the 200 IM (-10.47); and Hannah Soutter in the 200 Free (-7.76) just to name a few!

Despite hundreds if swimmers competing, our NJB athletes finished well, including Top-10 Places by Zach Bezold (3rd in the 200 Breast); Nathaniel Kern (3rd in the 100 Fly, 10th in the 50 Back); Jordan Maruska (10th in the 100 Back, 5th in the 100 Breast, 2nd in the 100 Free, and 7th in the 200 IM); and Michael Rizzo (6th in the 400 IM, 3rd in the 800 Free).

Congratulations to all of the swimmers on a fun long course season- see you in the fall! And good luck to those swimmers advancing to JOs and Futures!
