PVA October Swim Meets - Recap and Thank You

With a great start to the 2019-2020 meet season, PVA travelled to Bard College at Simon's Rock on October 5th. We sent 11 motivated athletes to compete in a season starter and had a great time! Poppy Carothers, Julia Goh, Julia Holmgren, Mia Holmgren, Sophia Holmgren, Samantha Honecker, Savannah Shustack, Lydia Shustack, Harper Stevenson, Samanatha Stevenson, and Asa Stone all swam extremely well and rocked the pool with great races!

A few weeks later on October 19th, PVA hosted the Pioneer Valley Avenger Aquatics team in an awesome home meet here at Willams College with 37 of our own athletes racing their way to best times and smiling finishes! Competing in their first official PVA short course meet, Grayson Fredette, Grace Irwin, Brielle Kirchner, Kai Kornell, Olivia Way, and Josie Shustack all swam awesome races! It was a true team atmosphere as our experienced athletes mentored the younger swimmers and everyone was on deck cheering for each other! We would be remiss not to thank all of the amazing parents who volunteered their time behind the blocks and who donated baked goods and refreshments for the volunteer officials and coaches. It was an inspiring experience for all involved and a super way to start things off as a whole team!

Wrapping up the month of October, PVA travelled to Springfield Central High School on the 27th for yet another awesome meet as Zamir Ashraf, Grace Burhans, Sunny Cart, Courtland Cart, Addison Colvin, Grayson Fredette, Ian Fredette, Noah Fredette, Julia Goh, Samantha Honecker, Emily Johnson, Nick King, Zach King, Brielle Kirchner, Anna Macpherson, Krishiv Malhotra, Harper Stevenson, Samantha Stevenson, and Asa Stone all had outstanding swims! PVA truly dominated the pool as many heat winner duckies were won and old best times were squashed!

October was a great start to the meet season! Quoting Coach Allie, "What an awesome jumping off point for these swimmers!" Thank you to all parents and family members for your support and enthusiasm! Next up will be the Hour of Power Relay and Smith College meet in November.
