ACAC Senior Southeastern Championships

It’s February 19 and there are signs that all this Covid-19 mania is beginning to taper off.  The daylight is lasting a bit longer, some days are much warmer than the winter time, and people are beginning to look forward to their freedom.  One of those opportunities took 5 ACAC Swimmers to Huntsville Alabama for Southeastern Swimming’s 2021 Senior Southeastern Championships.

The Southeastern Swimming Championships a meet held for the best swimmers in Tennessee, Alabama, and the Panhandle of Florida to come together and race in a 3-day competition in a championship showdown of prelim/finals swimming.  The top 24 finishes from morning preliminary sessions come back at night for an evening championship finals swim-off.  ACAC was represented in all finals sessions, scoring a combined 20th place finish out of over forty other teams.

“We had a really good meet this weekend,” said Head Coach Andy Wagner.  “In a normal year we get to see a lot more racing through the winter months than we’ve seen this go-around, so I think our swimmers feel pretty confident about where we are in their preparations.  Our swims were fast and it really looked like we knew what we were doing!  That was a good swim meet for our swim team!
