USA-Swimming Scholarship Announcement
We are happy to announce that WRA
Swimming applied for and received a second club relief grant from
USA Swimming in the amount of $3750. We intend to use these funds
to scholarship any WRA swimmers whose families have encountered
financial hardships associated with COVID-19.
The terms of the scholarship will be very simple: 1) You must have
been a member prior to the March shutdown, 2) You must attest that
your family has experienced financial difficulties that are
impacting your ability to afford monthly dues, and 3) You must
request scholarship funds prior to the 30th of each month.
Because WRA is operating at reduced-capacity/revenue, the grant
from USA Swimming is the only source of funding for the
scholarship. Once the money has been used, we will no longer be
able to continue offering the financial assistance. Scholarships
will be granted on the honor system, and we trust that no members
of WRA will take advantage of the funds if they are not needed,
ensuring scholarship funds will be available for those who need
To request the use of scholarship funds for March, please
email [email protected] no later than March

A Note from the
Due to the various restrictions and
subsequent restraints imposed by COVID-19, all groups are still on
slightly reduced practice durations. We hope this won't continue
indefinitely, but in the meantime, we want to encourage all
swimmers to continue to supplement their in-water training with
age-appropriate strength training at home. For a majority of our
swimmers, the most beneficial training will be core exercises and
body weight exercises such as pushups, pullups, lunges, burpees,
etc, all in addition to hamstring and hip flexor stretching. If you
have any questions about this, please feel free to email me
