Zones, Summer Senior Sectional and OW Updates

The Western Zone leadership provided the following updates on May 2 about the summer zones and sectional meets. The attachment provides all the information previously reported on the website. It includes pictures of the new age group zones venue in Texas.

California hopes will meet it's re-opening requirements by June 15.

A summary of the information is below.

Western Regional Speedo Summer Senior Sectionals: will now be held at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, July 15-18. 

Western Zone Senior Zone Championships: will be held July 27-31 at Clovis, California (no change to date or location). Do not purchase non-refundable plane tickets or hotel rooms until it is determined the State of California will be open to out of state athletes to attend this meet. Hopefully California will meet it's COVID re-opening requirements by June 15.

Western Zone Age Group Championships: will be held at the LISD Westside Aquatic Center in Lewisville, Texas, August 4-7. The pool is located approximately 10 minutes north of the Dallas - Fort Worth airport. This is an indoor 50 LCM pool. No spectators during prelims, limited spectators during finals. All relays during prelims. An additional COVID surcharge will apply to all athlete entries this year. Estimated cap of 500 athletes.

Western Zone Inclusion Summit: Saturday, August 14. This is a virtual event.

Western Zone Open Water Championships: September 21 at Lake Las Vegas, Nevada.

Las Vegas Open Water Championship Cup: October 8-10 at Las Vegas, Nevada.

2022 Western Zone SCY Senior Championships: March 30 - April 2 at Dixie State University, St. George, Utah. Time standards will be the 2021 WZ Senior Zone Championships time standards plus bonus events. No de-qualifying times.
