 Devilfish swimmer Clare Logan gets Olympic Trials Qualifying Cut in the 50M Freestyle

The Westfield Area Y Devilfish swim team sent 3 swimmers to the TYR 18U Spring Cup long course meet in Richmond, VA from April 29th - May 2nd. Clare Logan, Emily Constable and Bridget Thomas represented the Westfield Area YMCA Devilfish and earned the team 17th place out of 57 teams.

Emily Constable made finals in both of her events coming in 12th in both the 100M Breast with a time of 1:15.96 and the 200M Breast with a time of 2:43.67

Bridget Thomas swam both the 400M free with a time of 4:38.02 and the 1500 Free where she came in 17th place with a time of 18:00.98.

The most impressive swim of the weekend went to Clare Logan who placed 1st in preliminaries in the 50M Free with a time of 25.75 which is an Olympic Trials qualifying time. Overall Clare finished 4th in finals with a still impressive 25.92. In addition, she also made finals in her two other events coming in 5th in the 100M Back with a time of 1:04.03 and 3rd in the 100M Free with a time of 56.92.

The Olympic Trials Qualifying Wave 1 meet will be taking place in Omaha, NE from June 4th-7th. The entire Devilfish Team along with the coaching staff and YMCA congratulate Clare on this amazing achievement and wish her good luck in Omaha!
