SCAT is extremely excited to announce that we have additional coaching staff to assist us through this summer. As we have stated, SCAT continues to search for a replacement for Jamey Myers and temporarily for David Menchinger. We are pleased to introduce Ronica and JC Rodela for the remainder of our 2020-21 season.
JC Rodela started his competitive swimming career in Mission Viejo, California. High school achievements include member of the Mission Viejo national team, qualified for national and international meets while traveling the world including the US Open, Junior and Senior Nationals, Central American Games, Pan American Games, World Championships and World University Games. After high school, attended Purdue University on a full swimming scholarship during which he was a BigTen finalist several years in the 100 and 200 backstroke. After college, participated in several triathlons including the IronMan. JC coached at several phases throughout his swimming career, from beginners to masters. Currently lives in Peachtree City with his wife, two kids and two dogs. You'll find JC on the golf course during his free time.
Ronica Rodela started her swimming career in Phoenix, Arizona. High school achievements include member of the Arizona Gauchos national team and junior and senior national qualifier in the 100 breastroke. After high school, attended Purdue University on a swimming scholarship in which she was the team captain. After college, swam masters and competed in triathlons. Ronica has been on deck with our National Development group since last week, and JC will join her starting Tuesday, June 1st. They will co-coach our National Development group. If / when you see them, don't hesitate to say welcome and hello. We are incredibly grateful that they have stepped into this role for SCAT and appreciate the sacrifices it takes to juggle their family around to help us out.
