A MESSAGE FROM COACH TODD
Greetings Wahoo Parents and Swimmers,
I hope this communication finds you well.
What a fantastic swim meet we experienced this past weekend. The weather was beautiful and the energy of those that attended was exciting to say the least. It was so great to host our first Long Course meet since summer 2019 and our first home meet with other teams since winter 2020. Older swimmers after their swim session remained for the younger Wahoo swimmers session in order to raise money for our fight against Breast Cancer through a bake sale and the sale of "Paint the Pool Pink" apparel. They also lead team cheers and assisted Coach Eric and Ray with the younger swimmers as well. Team spirit was at a high throughout the weekend. You can imagine the significant time drops most of our swimmers had in all of their races.
Thank you to ALL volunteers who made this meet possible, as we all know, our meets are vital to our team and are highly successful due to the outstanding community of Wahoo parent volunteers.
As we come out of COVID you could actually feel the joy of our swimmers involved in such a meet. This is a valuable experience that they had missed for some time.
This is a reminder that TODAY is our sign up deadline for our next meet(June 4-6). You will find that the Long Course season moves very quickly and that being engaged with meet sign ups is critical.
A reminder that our Swim- a –Thon is upcoming, and as of the writing we have raised over $22,000 towards our new state of the art scoreboard. This event is going to be very exciting for all who participate. Which, I might add should be everyone.
There will be no practice for any squads on Monday Memorial day- enjoy the day- remember those who served our country, and enjoy some well-deserved Family time.
All my best,
Director of Competitive Aquatics
