With this being the last week of school, the team will be transitioning out to the long course pool at Emmaus Community. Since 8s do not compete in long course, this is our last week together as a full group of 8 and unders. Now that the world is beginning to reopen, please enjoy your summer! Join a Summer League team, stay up a little late, go on vacation, ride your bike until you can't anymore. Do everything you can and fill your summer with fun! Swimming and EMAC will be here in late August/early September to welcome you back; some of you as brand new 9-10s!

WOW: The meet this weekend was Awesome! Our swimmers did some impressive things even if we don't include the massive change to our schedule we went through the last year. Making the results from this weekend all the more impressive. Swimmers were dropping time so fast we had trouble picking it all up! At the time of this email, meet results still have yet to be received so a follow-up will go out with the results in PDF format once we attain them. Until then, a few highlights we want to bring to light:

  • Austin Zabinski - Austin had arguably the hardest event line-up for all our 10 and unders. Saturday he swam the 50 free, 50 fly, 100 back, and 200 free. Sunday he tackled the 200 back, 100 free, and 200 im. He looked physically exhausted when he was done. He gave everything he had in every event and didn't complain once. This is the kind of attitude we are looking for in our swimmers. Awesome work Austin!
  • Max Williams - After Max swam his 50 freestyle on Sunday, he got coaching advice on how to better swim the stroke, which he took into a warm-up time to work on, and then attempted to implement in his 200. This is the coachability and effort we want to see in our athletes. By taking that coaching advice and immediately implementing it in a meet is setting him up for future growth. Great focus Max!
  • Carson Mosel - Carson expanded his JO cuts this weekend to four events: 50 Free and 50/100/200 Breast. He's also close in two other events. Carson, you're setting yourself up for a busy JO weekend!
  • Elise Pukszyn - Elise made her first JO cut EVER in the 50 back. She's taken the kick focus: both underwaters and flutter kicking and brought it to the forefront in her backstroke, and it paid off. The 100 backstroke should be in her near future. Great work Elise!

The Championship meet series is now posted on our website. Please be aware that you need to sign up for these meets BEFORE the deadline. Once coaches submit entries for the championship series they cannot be changed or ammended. If you plan to attend a championship meet, please sign up ASAP
