Sign ups for Time Trials

Hello, Sharks families.

As we approach time trials this weekend, wanted to offer up some information to help you navigate the swim season.

1) This Wednesday, on the pool deck from 5:30-6pm, we will offer an informal session “Swim Team 101” where newer families can ask questions of returning families to best prepare for the weeks ahead (no question is a bad question—all is fair game ;) We will also review the On Deck app that you will use to check meet status, swimmer times and volunteer sign ups.

2) Time trials are this Sat. 6/12 from 8-9:30am. This is a great way for families to see how the meets work and encourage those swimmers who can swim their respective 25/50 meter strokes (This may seem obvious yet, just to be clear, not all Little Flippers are swimming at this session. Throughout the season, your junior coach and Coach Laura will let you know when we think your swimmer will be ready to try her/his first 25m swim).

3) On this Wednesday morning, we will ‘open’ the volunteer sign up sheet on the website/in the OnDeck app (for Time Trials only) so parents can sign up to help run this meet. Thank you to those of you who attended one of the four CSL officiating sessions—new officials can also count this as one of their three shadowing sessions.

4) NOTE THIS WAS EDITED BASED ON A SYSTEM REVIEW ON 6/9/21  We request parents to please indicate your swimmer’s meet availability for each Wed. and Sat. meet (ideally no later than three days prior to that meet) within the system. By default, we presume swimmers are not available; you would only indicate if a swimmer will be in town for a particular meet/Time Trials. Putting this info in as soon as you know it is a huge help for Coach Laura, Sheilah, and the Kelley’s as they create the meet sheets/swimmer cards each week.

Looking forward to seeing our swimmers in the water this Saturday and all of us on deck.

Go Sharks!
