AFTERNOON PRACTICES CONTINUE THIS WEEK – WEATHER PERMITTING
Swim Practices continue in the afternoons this week. Practice times are:
4;00pm-4:30pm: Ages 6 & Under (Mini Group)
4:30pm-5:30pm: Ages 7-10 (Junior Group)
5:30pm-7:00pm: Ages 11-18 (Senior Group)
Lane Swim Club managers make the determination if practices need to be cancelled due to thunder & lightning in the area and any cancelled practice notices are posted to the club's Facebook page. Please use parental judgement if the weather seems likely to cancel practice and keep an eye on the "active" Facebook group (1 of 3) for Lane Swim Club.
STROKE & TURN OFFICIALS TRAINING TONIGHT, JUNE 9TH AT 7:00PM - WEATHER PERMITTING
I apologize for such short notice, but the Stroke and Turn Officials Training will take place in person at Graylyn Crest Swim Club (2002 Marsh Road) at 7:00pm tonight. If you are interested but cannot make the training tonight, please let me know and I will provide training via Zoom. We need as many quality officials for the end of the year Championship Meets as we can get and performing that role at our regular meets is great training.

SWIM MEET INFORMATION - MASKS ARE REQUIRED
All Swim Meet event details will soon be posted to the Lane wesbite along with Volunteer Job Sign ups. Our first meet is away at Elks Swim Club on Thursday June 17th. Even though masks are generally no longer required outside, the NBSL (with the guidance of thier own epidemiologist) has determined that adult volunteers (even if fully vaccinated) who must interact with young swimmers not old enough to be vaccinated, should wear protective masks. Swimmers are not required to wear masks at meets; spectators are not required to wear masks at meets; only volunteers during thier volunteer duties must wear masks. While this is disappointing news, we must come together as a team and be supportive of this requirement. We also need enough volunteers for our team to participate in meets. I will keep you all updated if that requirement changes.
