Roles in Need of NEW Volunteers

Hi Tsunami Families!

Now is YOUR chance to take on a new role in service to the Sac Town Tsunami Swim Team!!!  We are in need of new parents to learn with us at the home meet so that we can have them trained in a couple Home Meets roles:

  1. Computer operator: The computer operator runs the home meets using a program called MeetManager. This is where all of the times are sent to and then saved for final processing after the meet. It’s how the Meet Program and Meet Results PDFs are created and how the lane sheets are printed. Difficulty Level: Moderate

  2. Colorado operator: The Colorado operator manages scoring and times on a computer during the meet. The info comes in from each lane via the timing system and gets stored into the Colorado and then into MeetManager. Difficulty Level: Easy

  3. Snack bar lead: The snack bar leads other parent volunteers to shop, prep food, and transport snacks, food, paper goods, on home meet days. Difficulty Level: Moderate

Parents currently in the roles above have left the team or have with swimmers who are in their LAST year with Tsunami in 2021 so this home meet is our chance to show other parents how to do the jobs above.

If you are willing to learn a new skill and become a little more involved with home meets, please reply to this email and I will get you connected! You’d basically shadow and help on July 24th so that you can see how the task is done. Then you could decide if you want to provide more long-term help.

Thank you for considering it - we know we have LOTS of talented parents on the team who can pitch in.
