Welcom Coach Lucy Suter - Head Developmental Age Group Coach

We are very excited to announce that Lucy Suter will join our full time staff as our new Head Developmental Coach starting in September. Please help welcome her to her new role as the lead coach for the Junior, Long Fins and Short Fins Squads.  Lucy will also oversee the Mini Makos and continue to run the Masters Swim group.

Lucy’s experience running the Panther Aquatic Club over the last 14 years has helped her develop a great understanding and appreciation for how focus on strong foundational skills, in a fun and enjoyable environment, enables swimmers to find great success as they progress through their career.   In her time at PAC, Lucy worked with swimmers at every level producing CT Age Group, CT Senior, Zones, Sectionals, Futures and Senior National qualifiers.  Her efforts helped grow the PAC team from a Park and Rec program to a USA Swimming Club with over 150 swimmers.  Her commitment to the development of her swimmers and her team demonstrates her ability to keep swimmers and families engaged in the program.  This dedication is what makes her a great fit for the Mako Swim Team and the ideal candidate for the Head Developmental Age Group Coach position.

Not only does Lucy bring over a decade of coaching experience with her, she has an extensive career as an athlete that began in her early childhood.  She swam competitively as a Wilton Y Wahoo for 12 years, and for four years at Pomperaug High School.  After high school she represented Denison University as a Varsity Athlete while earning her degrees in English and Communications.

In addition to her dedication to the sport as a coach and athlete, Lucy is familiar with our program and a lot of our swimmers all ready.  She joined us in fall 2019 as our Masters Swim coach, and then took on an assisting role with several of our Mako squads in fall 2020 during the COVID chaos.

Lucy is eager to get started working with our younger swimmers, where she will teach them more about the essentials of swimming and strong foundational skills, while having fun along the way.

We are looking forward to having Lucy in this new role and hope you will give her a warm welcome.
