Specific GOAL Practice Facility Info: Including Covid-19 policies

Specific Info about GOAL’s practice sites, including  the pools’ Covid-19 and spectator policies.

Practice Site / Covid policies:

1.         College of St. Mary’s (7000 Mercy Rd).  Entrance into campus off either Mercy Rd. at 70th St., or off 72nd St. at Cedar St. (just north of Mercy Rd.).  Pool is in the Lied Fitness Center, which is at the far north end of campus.  Double click on picture below for a video of how to get to pool area.

The door to the pool area is at the underpass area between the Lied Fitness Center and the new fieldhouse. When the back pool door is replaced, everyone will be able to enter straight into the pool. Until then, we are to enter at the door leading to the hallway that passes the training room.  At the end of the hallway, take a hard right and enter the double doors into the pool area.  Entrance to the locker rooms is from inside the pool area.  Parents may drop off/pick up at the door at the underpass, as well as park in the new back lot behind the pool. If congestion becomes a problem in the underpass area, CSM may have to require swimmers to walk from the parking lot.

At the request of the CSM administration, ALL people entering the building need to wear a mask. All swimmers should remain masked until entering the water. Swimmers should have a ziplock baggy with their name on it to put their mask in and leave poolside while swimming.  Coaches may unmask once athletes are in the pool, if they are fully vaccinated. Spectators at this point are not invited into the building unless it is a brief evaluation situation. CSM is being vigilant with their students and keeping campus open, please help them to keep everyone safe and healthy.

2.         Montclair Community Center (2304 S. 135th Ave.)

Though Montclair currently does not have any Covid restrictions at the time of this writing (Aug. 26, 2021), we do ask that any unvaccinated swimmers, coaches or spectators in the pool indoor deck area please wear masks.  Swimmers wearing masks should have a ziplock baggy with their name on it to put their mask in and leave poolside while swimming.  When outdoors, masks are not required.  We will continue to have swimmers enter and exit through the pool deck door at the far downhill end of the parking lot (west end).  Spectators can watch practice, and must remain in the upper level viewing area.

3.         Mockingbird Community Center (10242 Mockingbird Dr.)

Though Mockingbird currently does not have any Covid restrictions at the time of this writing (Aug. Spectators can watch practice, and must remain in the lobby viewing area.

4.         Westgate Pool (8233 Grover St.)

Being our only outdoor pool this Fall (we’re using Westgate through Sep. 17 for certain groups), masks are not required, except that we do ask that unvaccinated individuals wear masks while in the locker rooms.  Spectators are allowed on deck.

5.         Burke H.S. (12200 Burke St.)

Per the OPS mandate, ALL people entering the building need to wear a mask. Masks may be removed when one is engaged in physical exercise (i.e. swimming).  Swimmers should have a ziplock baggy with their name on it to put their mask in and leave poolside while swimming.  We are awaiting word from Burke about spectator allowances.
