Tualatin Hills Swim Club is excited to announce the hiring of Gardner Howland.
The departure of Jon Hiett a valued and respected coach left us with a tremendous opportunity to bring in a coach that could have a big impact. Gardner Howland has been described as one of the best coaches in the country and Gardner will bring to the club a wealth of experience and a passion for teaching that will help our club get to the next level.
Gardner’s resume includes head coach at 2 USA Swimming Gold Medal clubs, multiple USA National Team staff. He has placed swimmers on international teams including the 2000 Olympic Team. He comes to THSC with many years of being a head coach most recently from a 2-year stint at Tennessee Aquatics.
“In our first conversation, it was apparent that Franz and I shared some strong philosophical common ground, along with our own unique experiences and methods. The potential for a productive and enjoyable work environment was interesting and exciting! I am looking forward to serving THSC and its athletes.” Says Howland
Howland will take charge leading SR2 and AG1 Black. He is currently moving his family across the country and will be on deck very soon.
