Meet Results - LCN vs Anchor Bay

The Lady Crusaders had their first swim meet of the season and I am extremely proud in the manor in which they competed this evening. Prior to the meet beginning, when I was talking to the girls in the locker room, I had told them that I was not worried about whether or not the team won the meet, but I wanted to witness the improvement in their technique. The team may have lost to Anchor Bay by a score of 98 to 82, but I did see many swimmers preform with better technique.

The team had six swimmers qualified for the Macomb County Championship Meet. These swimmers included: Sarah & Emma Bauer, Samantha Tauriainen, Makayla Owensby, Emilia Ridderikhoff and Scarlett Winter. Each of these swimmers qualified in two different events. There are a number of other swimmers that are on the verge of qualifying.

Swimmers that swam best times this evening included: Abbie Hazelton - 200 Free & 100 Free, Giabella Batkins - 200 IM & 100 Breast, Brynn Yurenka - 200 IM & 100 Breast, Georgia Czarny - 50 Free, Mia Pantelides - 50 Free, Kyra Norwood - 50 Free, Anya Johnson - 50 Free, Nola Geddes - 100 Fly & 100 Back and ChloeAnderson - 100 Back.

Like I mentioned earlier, the improvement in technique is going to be the key to the teams success this season. us coaches saw a great deal of improvement, but there is a lot more work that needs to be done. Swimmers need to be at EVERY practice and ON TIME ENTERING THE WATER!

There is a great deal of potential for success with this team and I am excited to watch the team progress.
