Concord Swim Club is proud to announce the promotion of Coach Nicolle Corporon to the position of Associate Head Coach. This promotion was effective as of September 6. Coach Corporon has been on the coaching staff at Concord since September 2007. In her 14 years of service she has coached every level of our program, from novice to national qualifiers. She has served as our Head Age Group Coach since April 2015, with responsibility for all of our programming for 14 & under athletes. Coach Corporon has also served on the Concord HS coaching staff since September 2009 where she has been a key contributor to our 6 Sectional championships, numerous top 10 finishes in Indiana Swimming Age Group and Senior State Championships, many outstanding state meet performances, and dozens of school and team records. Head Coach Tom Johnson states “Coach Nicolle has been an integral piece in our program’s success over the past decade. She has shown tremendous growth over the years, and is currently one of the top coaches in the state.” Coach Corporon was recently named as one of the top 50 age group coaches in the nation for 2020-2021 by the American Swim Coaches Association, based upon the performances of athletes she directly coached. She has also served on numerous Indiana Swimming camp staffs and Team Indiana coaching staffs, including the Duel in the Pool and Central Zones.
In her role as Associate Head Coach, Coach Corporon will have responsibilities in all areas of our program, including program development for all levels of the team, staff training and supervision, administrative functions, business management, event hosting, and long range planning. She will continue to serve as lead coach for our top 12-14 year old athletes, while continuing to assist with our high school athletes. Concord Swim Club Board President Angie Brenneman offers her perspective on this promotion. "Coach Corporon exhibits not only experience and a broad knowledge base when it comes to the sport of swimming, but has a true love for the sport, and a desire to see each of her athletes succeed in and out of the pool. We are excited for the future of Concord swimming and what she gives to our program."
