Happy National Coaches' Day!
Huge thank you to all our coaches for their hard work and commitment to NTA on a daily basis!
Shout out your coach on social media with the hashtag #myswimcoachrocks and tag @newtrieraquatics and we'll repost it on our story as well!
This weekend is a busy week across the program!
Swimmers are at Shark Frenzy, Polo has ODP Identifications & 14U Tournament play – so EVERYONE is busy showing off our hard work!
Onto the details/updates for the week…
Spectators are not allowed at this meet. Unfortunately, while other school sponsored events have allowed spectators, with the volume of athletes we have at the club meet combined with a sport where athletes have to be unmasked – to keep the space safe for everyone from a Covid perspective, we must maintain no spectators. All meets we are attending in Illinois at high schools have this same protocol.
Volunteers. We do have some need for volunteers still! Remember no spectators – so this gets a viewing seat on deck. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator Josh Queyquep at [email protected] to get started or CLICK HERE to sign up after you’ve logged into the team website. No Experience Necessary! We train you and all volunteers get a team shirt!
Heat Sheets. Heat sheets will be posted on the event page no later than Friday morning. CLICK HERE for the event page.
Online Video Feed. The online video feed link (Zoom) of the meet will be sent to all participants on Friday afternoon.
Schedule. We anticipate that the Schedule for the fall should be stable moving forward, however, we are evaluating the schedule as we go to tweak it to best serve our team family. Thank you for those who have reached out with concerns – we hear you & after the first few weeks of this schedule; we’ll be able to better evaluate what works & what doesn’t. We appreciate your patience as we make a few small adjustments to make this work for the whole team. Our goal is to have the permanent schedule by October 15th.
Spectators. No spectators are allowed at workouts. We understand the desire to watch the hard work in progress, but due to the volume of athletes at workouts and how challenging social distancing is at most of our facilities, especially when training groups transition, we need to limit bodies in the physical space. With our sport being largely unmasked, there’s an added level of potential transmission – even with vaccinated athletes and coaches. We hope this will change in the future (as we have allowed spectators in the past), but for right now, we must make decisions that best protect our entire team family.
To sign up for private lessons – CLICK HERE – you will need to log into the website as lessons are for NTA members only.
One parent/guardian will be allowed into facilities when their athlete is participating in a private or semi-private lesson. Parents must stay in the stands and must be always masked and may not use the locker rooms. Upon the conclusion of the lesson, the parent/guardian and athlete must depart together within 15 minutes of completion of lesson to avoid any potential overlap with families.
If you're not sure how to sign up - please contact your lead coach and they'll help you RSVP on time!
