Grant Gooding of UASC Commits to Louisville

UASC has its first college commitment among our high school (Golden Bear group) juniors, Class of 2023!

Junior Grant Gooding has committed to swim at Louisville beginning in the fall of 2023.

He told Swimming World:

“Thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Louisville, I want to thank my coaches, family, friends and teammates for this great opportunity, Go Cards”

Gooding trains with Upper Arlington Swim Club and most recently earned four best times at Richmond Futures where his highest finish was a 19th-place showing in the 50m free. He also collected five silver medals at Ohio LCM Seniors this past summer before finaling in four events at Geneva Sectionals.

Currently a junior at Upper Arlington High School, Gooding is already a four-time individual Ohio State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American earned silver in the 100 breast and bronze in the 200 IM as a sophomore while taking sixth and ninth, respectively, in those events during his freshman season.

His best times include:

  • 50 breast – 25.63
  • 100 breast – 54.80
  • 200 breast – 2:04.31
  • 50 free – 20.80
  • 100 free – 46.58
  • 200 IM – 1:50.03

Congratulations to Grant and the entire Gooding family!
