Swimmers Make a Splash at Monster Meet

Our ‘Cudas hits the blocks again at this season’s Monster Splash meet at the Berkeley Aquatic Center for Excellence in New Providence. Despite some ghoulish competition from the few hundred area swimmers, our 26 attending NJB swimmers swam 63 personal bests, 7 new team records, 8 First Places, and a ton of scary-good times in their 117 splashes!

Firsts were earned by Reese Berg (100 Breast); Jonathan Kern (100 Free, 100 IM, 50 Back); Nathaniel Kern (100 Free, 200 Fly, 200 Free); and Hannah Wilson (400 IM).

Other top three by Rylee Bambara (3rd in the 500 Free); Reese Berg (2nd in the 100 Fly and 500 Free, 3rd in the 200 Back); Zach Bezold (2nd in the 200 Breast and 500 Free); Kayla Bhagaloo (2nd in the 200 Fly); Matt Freund (3rd in the 200 Free); Ty Hollar (2nd in the 100 Back, 3rd in the 100 Free, 100 IM, and 50 Back); Ryan Juckett (3rd in the 100 Fly); Jonathan Kern (2nd in the 100 Breast, 100 Fly, and 50 Free); Nathaniel Kern (2nd in the 50 Back, 3rd in the 50 Breast); and Hannah Wilson (2nd in the 100 Free).

Many of the time-drops at this meet were substantial, including drops exceeding 10 seconds by Rylee Bambara (-17.94 in the 100 Breast); Reese Berg (-34.11 in the 200 Free, and -14.60 in the 500 Free); Sadie Cornelius (-10.17 in the 100 Fly); Marcus Innamorato (-14.96 in the 200 Back); Ryan Juckett (-11.22 in the 200 Free); Jonathan Kern (-30.47 in the 100 Fly); and Jillian Weinberger (-13.97 in the 500 Free).
