November 28, 2021
This preliminary information is for families attending the Gator Holiday Meet. More details will continue to be emailed.
Volunteers/ Meet Officials:
Preliminary Psych Sheets and Timeline - heat sheets are expected on Tuesday.
Pre-meet Warmup - awaiting Cyclones plans for pre-meet warmup.
On Thursday December 2nd, 2021 we will have lanes available for warm up between 5:00-7:00p. This will close promptly at 7:00pm, so be sure any of your athletes arriving know this. Coaches that arrive on Thursday can check in with Coach Hulvey to turn in their check and receive their coaching packet and athlete passes. Coach check in for coach packet and athlete passes will be set up in the lobby for Gate 2 on Friday morning. Please note that athletes and coaches WILL NOT be allowed in the lower Gate 3 entrances without credentials, so all athletes and coaches will need to check in Gate 2 Friday morning if they don’t get their credentials on Thursday night.
Athletes will have access to the lower Gate 3 and lower Gate 2 entrances during the meet for entry and exit of the building. Athletes will have use of the 6 lower rows of bleachers during the meet. Spectators will be limited to the top 4 rows of bleachers. Swimmers cannot go ‘up’ the bleachers to exit and spectators may not ‘come down.’ There will be a roped off bleacher section and UF Staff and Meet Volunteers enforcing this. Swimmers that need to go to the team store must exit Lower Gate 2 with their deck pass and walk up the outdoor stairs to the Upper Gate 2 entrance.
More information will come with
our heat sheets on Tuesday! Have a great weekend!
We will have a split warm up for 13&Older sessions (40min/40min/20min controlled) and a one session warm up for 12&Under. Assignments will come with the heat sheets on Tuesday.
Information for Parents / Spectators – Entrance, Tickets, Parking, etc
A please and thank you for the following:
Please ask parents to complete the attached Gainesville Sports Commission hotel questionnaire and drop it off with any GSC volunteers in the Gate 2 lobby when they arrive (ticket booth, shirt sales table, coach/volunteer check in table).
Tickets will be sold for $5 per
session at the ticket counters by the Gate 2 entrance.
Spectators will need to leave the facility at the end of the
session for cleaning. There will be no spectators allowed in
the stands during any warmup session to give time for the stands to
be cleaned and to promote better air quality through the
weekend Advance tickets will not be sold, and they will be
available on a first come first served basis (Roughly 350 per
session but based on actual swimmer numbers per session up to our
fire code limitation). Please note that there are seat
numbers on the bleachers, you are purchasing one seat, so please do
not spread out other items into other seats (spectators).
Wristbands from a preliminary session will get you into finals without purchasing an additional ticket.
Because spectator seating is limited and tickets are required, we want to have openings for parents from visiting teams to volunteer so they can be inside the venue at no cost. Hospitality meals are also provided for all volunteers! Sign-up is available at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F4DADAC23A4F9C61-2021. Volunteer slots will be confirmed by an e-mail from Gator Swim Club in advance of the meet start.
All American Swim will be our on-site vendor in the Florida Room in the Gate 2 lobby near the natatorium entry. Meet shirts will also be for sale in the lobby. Parents can enter the lobby without a ticket but will not be able to enter the natatorium.
The 2021 Craft Festival will be taking place in the O'Connell Center on December 4 and 5 so parents can visit that event as well. Tickets are $5 at the door.
Parking and tenting
Tenting is allowed on the grassy areas outside of Gate 2; guests may not set up on sidewalks or other walkways. Parents may stop along Stadium Road to unload prior to parking. Parents should NOT stop on Gale Lemerand Drive. GSC volunteers will be in the Stadium Road/Gate 2 area on Friday and Saturday to assist with directions. Tents and other items cannot be left overnight.
Parking for the morning and afternoon sessions will be ONLY at Flavet Field, which is west of the O'Connell Center off of Stadium Road. O'Connell Center staff will assist with parking on the field. Parking for finals will be in the main O'Connell Center garage and lot to the north of the building; parking at Flavet Field will NOT be allowed for finals.
Saturday and Sunday:
Parking for all sessions will be in the main O'Connell Center garage and lot to the north of the building. If the lot is full, most other campus lots are also open all day for public parking; large lots near the law school and the track lot off of Woodlawn Drive are a short walk from the O'Connell Center.
