Brooke Thompson Sets New American Deaf Records in Women's 50 Freestyle

Brooke Thompson, a member of the USA Deaf Swimming National Team, is setting new Deaf American Records in swimming. Brooke broke the Women's 50 meter freestyle record in July, 2021. With her swim time of 27.34 seconds at the Speedo Sectionals Swim Meet, she broke the record of 27.44 set by Peggy Liang in 2011. Brooke also set a new record in the Women's 50 Yard Freestyle recently at the Michigan High School State Championships. With her swim time of 23.81 seconds, she broke the record set in 2011 also by Peggy Liang as well. Congratulations to Brooke Thompson on her excellent season so far! We look forward to seeing her set new records at the Deaflympics in Brazil in May, 2022!
