TWST News- Meets, Banquet, Summer Swim

We completed our Short Course Season with two meets in March. Our 12 Speedo Sectional swimmers competed in Buffalo where they were able to update some of their long course times. Seven of those swimmers returned to compete during finals. It was a great opportunity to work in some long course racing just before the season.
Our three Eastern Zone Age Group Championship swimmers were able to see how they matched up against the fastest 14 & Under athletes from Virginia up through Maine. A big shout out to Liam Clark who had two, 3rd place finishes at the meet in the 100 breaststroke and 400IM and grabbed 2nd place in the 200 IM with the time of 1:59.01!

TWST Record Breakers from those meets…
13-14 Boys- Liam Clark 200 yard breast 2:15.29, 100 meter breast 1:10.81.
15-18 Girls- Elle Noecker 400 meter IM 5:02.22.

We hope everyone has enjoyed their break from the pool this past week. We are looking forward to our upcoming long course season. Please be sure you are signing up your swimmer for any upcoming meets before the deadlines pass. Today is the last day to register for the Natalie Lewis Invite in Tonawanda.

This week we registered a few new swimmers to our Blue, Silver and Junior teams. Please be sure to welcome them to the TWST family!

TWST Team Banquets – We will be celebrating our 2021–2022 Season at the end of May and beginning of June. Please check out the Meets/Events tab to confirm the date of your swimmer’s banquet and register them if they plan to attend. Board members and parent liaisons may be looking for some help in organizing these events.

Summer Swim – During the past 3 weeks we have gaged the interest in summer swim for our Junior and Senior groups.  Now we are reaching out to the Silver, Blue and White team families to see how many athletes would be interested in a TWST summer session. I have a potential schedule posted on the website under the TWST Membership tab, Summer Swim program. Please email me by Tuesday if you feel your swimmer might be interested in that session.  We understand many of our members opt to train with their area summer swim clubs but encourage our members to attend TWST Meets during the summer months when possible.

Masters/College Summer Session-We are also determining the potential of a master’s swim program. This possible practice schedule is also posted under the membership tab. Please email me by Tuesday if you or someone you know might be interested in participating. This could be a great option for those College Swimmers who are not looking to compete but would like to stay in shape.

Enjoy your Easter Weekend!
