Parade, TShirts, and other TFS Updates!

Stingray families,

The Shrimp Fest parade is TOMORROW!

  • The parade is tomorrow, Thursday, April 28th.  Be at Central Park by 5:30 pm.  Parade starts at 6 pm rain or shine.
  • You will need to park and walk to the parade staging area (around Central Park and the ball fields).  A great place to park is in the school board field across the street.
  • We are #40!!  Look for the #40 spot in the parade staging area.
  • All parents, siblings and swimmers are invited to participate in the parade with us!  All participating need to wear team T-shirts (either new or past) or team colors (royal blue, lime green, or white).
  • The theme is Saltwater Cowboy.  We have some bandanas and cowboy hats to hand out.  Feel free to bring your own props and accessories.  It would be great if you brought a wagon or stroller to help us carry extra candy.
  • WE NEED CANDY! Please bring LOTS of candy. NO CHOCOLATE.
  • Please bring a bag, bucket or basket to carry candy.
  • Elementary school children (and younger) MUST have a parent or guardian accompany them in the parade. Only middle school and high school kids can be "dropped off" and allowed to walk by themselves.  Strollers and wagons are highly encouraged. And feel free to decorate them!
  • NEW PARADE RULE - only children ages 12 and up can hand out candy.  Younger children can carry the bag, wave, and/or blow bubbles (bring your own bubbles).
  • If you are dropping off your middle schooler or high-schooler, please claim them ASAP.  We will end the parade near the gazebo in Central Park. Do NOT wait for the entire parade to end before claiming your kid(s). We love your kids but please don't make coaches and other parents wait with your child to be picked up once we are finished with the parade.  We are #40 so we will be done before many of the other parade entrants.
  • NO THROWING CANDY!! This is a major parade rule and will get us disqualified from future parades. Candy must be handed out along the parade route.

Team T-shirts will be handed out to all registered swimmers at the parade.  If you do not attend the parade, you can pick up your team T-shirt at Monday's practice.

There will be no practice the night of the Shrimp Festival Parade, Thursday April 28th.  Please come join us at the parade and show your Stingray pride!  GO STINGRAYS!!!!
