Shawn Moe, from the Missoula YMCA Swim Team, was named the 2022 Montana Swimming Outstanding Volunteer of the Year during the spring HOD meeting. Congratulations Shawn!!
Michelle Schermerhorn nominated Sawn and here's what she said about him:
I would like to nominate Shawn Moe for the Phillips 66 Volunteer of the year. Shawn has been an official with Montana Swimming for 7+ years. Shawn shows up to each meet ready to work for the kids. He’s always willing to step into any assignment on the deck and give it his all whether as a stroke and turn official, starter or whatever is requested of him. He does it all with a smile on his face. He’s willing to stay and work the 10U sessions even when he has no kids in the session and will not get a rest in between. My favorite thing is watching him kneel down to talk to a young swimmer much shorter than him and watch the smile on his face light up when the swimmer is engaged and receptive to whatever it happens to be Shawn is assisting with. Shawn has dedicated many, many hours of his time to Montana Swimming and we have been lucky to have him for all these years.
