BHST Season Startup notes

A huge thank you to those who served, those currently serving, or those who will be serving in the future on the Memorial day weekend.  Hope everyone is enjoying the last weekend of swim free time before the season begins.  Here are the last reminders before we hit the water Tuesday May 31.


All practices start Tuesday May 31th, 8am (morning practice first) at the Riley Road pool.  Please enter and exit the pool from the side gate facing the parking lot.

All Hurricane swimmers and their family members are subject to the HOA of Brookside pool rules, which are posted on the bulletin board inside the clubhouse.  
Team Parent Meeting
There will be an information session for all families on Thursday June 2th, 6:30 pm in the Riley Road clubhouse.

Shirts are anticipated around June 6th and will be distributed on deck during evening practices. 


Team caps were placed in the family folders.  Silicone caps are available for sale on deck during practices. ($12)


There are seven opportunities to practice each week. Attendance is not required at all practices, however swimmers are encouraged to attend as many practices as possible to get the best experience out of the season.


Meet registration emails will be sent every Sunday for the following Saturday’s meet. Please declare your intentions by Wednesday at 8:00pm. Volunteer signup will be included in the Sunday email; at least one volunteer from each family is required to fulfill at least one volunteer shift. 

Swimmers may choose up to three events for regular season meets. The head coach will choose events for each swimmer for the divisional meet. All relay teams for all meets will be decided by the head coach. Meet results will be posted within 24 hours after the conclusion of the meet.

Meet set-up and clean-up responsibilities are shared by all families. Meet set up occurs at 6:00pm every Friday before home meets – no sign up is required, just come by and see how you can help. Please plan to stay after the conclusion of the meet to help with meet clean up and restoring the pool deck back to its usual arrangement.

Please note that tents will not be permitted on deck for any meets.  Tents can be set up anywhere outside the fenced in pool area.

Spirit Night is every Wednesday night during practices. An email will go out each Monday with Spirit Night details, including volunteer requests.


Each family has a red folder. The folders are located on the pool deck near the clubhouse entrance. The folders are used for communications and ribbon distribution. Please check your folder regularly, particularly on Monday nights.


Save the Date! The end of season banquet is scheduled for July 31 at 4:00pm at the Riley Road pool. More details will be emailed as the date approaches.
