Tri Cities Open

The Tri Cities invite is the largest meet of the season that’s open to all our athletes, with 800+ swimmers in attendance from all around the northwest. Each of the 50 or more heats in each event were closely seeded in time which meant lots of close, competitive races and made any top-7 finishes something to be very proud of! Our 54 swimmers raced exceptionally well, and CAST was once again by far the most spirited and encouraging team which no doubt contributed to the excellent results. Thanks to all the swimmers who made this a really fun meet to coach!

Trace Bennett headlines our athletes, as he won the 10 and under boys high point award with a tremendous 4 event wins to go along with a second, two thirds, and a fourth place finish. Our other top-3 event finishers were Camryn Schmidt, Erin Griffith, Gabby Garasky, Tillie Sobek, Pema Anain, and Trista Slife. Swimmers who had at least one finish between 4th and 7th were Bostyn Shoemaker, Owen Bennett, Jake Sachtjen, Quinn Taylor, Zach Linford, Dallin Stephens, Ellie Ruth, and Rachel Nicholls. Special shoutouts to Jake Sachtjen on his Senior Zone qualifying cut in the 800 and 200 freestyles, and his new top-10 performer time in the 800, to Quinn on her performer time in the 200 breaststroke, and Tillie on her 800 free performer time!

Many of our swimmers went best times in every event or all of their events except for one-congrats to Owen Bennett, Kamryn Braga, Dawson Cushman, Everly Desancic, Josh Dimitri, Joslyn Dimitri, Lindsay Dimitri, Dylan Gardner, Hannah Gardner, Ruby Gardner, Reagan Greiner, Erin Griffith, Ainsley Kuhne, George Lavy, Zach Linford, Maddy Matous, Anders Misner, John Misner, Kaylynn Misner, Rachel Nicholls, Michael Olsen, Olivia PItsch, Michaela Richards, Kamran Rosenberger, Keegan Rosenberger, Jake Sachtjen, Eli Shaw, Bostyn Shoemaker, Delaney Snell, Dallin Stephens, Belle Taylor, Charlie Wagstaff, Addison Wallace, Macey Yancey, and Taylor Young on their bevy of time drops over the weekend. That’s an astonishing 35 swimmers, many of whom just set new best times a mere two weeks ago in Lewiston!

Thanks to the swimmers once again on their terrific attitudes even when the days were long and the weather was uncooperative; you all made it a fun and exciting weekend full of great swims!
