Wow! Well, our first meet of the season is under our belt--and you all pitched in and did a phenomenal job! Thank you! South Side is in their second year as a team and Coach Art has a great vision for this team. He is working to offer the swim team experience to an underserved area that can't afford the country clubs and swim teams in the surrounding areas. I can't wait to see where he takes this team!
Because they are such a small team, you had to take on additional roles during the meet--THANK YOU!! Your support is greatly appreciated! Results for the meet are here--individual results start on page 2.
It's our FIRST WEEK OF MORNING PRACTICES!! Woohoo! That means tomorrow is Muffin Monday! If you haven't signed up for Muffin Monday--the Sign Up Genius is on our facebook page. Our swimmers will be offered these sweet treats at the end of their practice. If they are running to camp, they can run up and grab and go. If they don't, they are welcome to hang around with their teammates! Please make sure everyone picks up after themselves! No trash should be left behind!
Practice times for this week are Monday-Friday:
7:15-8:00: 7-10 year olds (alternates each week)
8:00-8:30: 6 & unders (always the same time each week)
8:30-9:15: 11 & older (alternates each week)
For swimmers 7 and older who have camps/work and can't make morning practice, Coach is offering two nighttime practices on Tuesday and Thursday at 8:00 p.m. You must let her know ahead of time that you would like to participate in these practices so she can plan.
Wednesday 10:00 a.m.: Deadline for signing your swimmer OUT if they can't participate in Saturday's meet. If your swimmer is participating, please make sure you sign up to volunteer during the meet. There are also volunteer needs for food support prior to the meet.
Friday 8:00 a.m.: During the 6 & Unders practice time on Friday, we will host our first Guppy Meet! All will swim during this meet. Our teens will help time. And we ask all who can come to cheer them on! From this meet, coaches will determine who will swim in Saturday's meet.
We will also be doing chalk art welcoming the LionFish. More info on this later!
Saturday's Meet vs. LionFish is our first HOME meet! Because of a very important retirement party on Friday night, we will need to do all the meet set up on Saturday morning. We will need 5-6 individuals to come at 6:15 to help get things ready. Check-in will be at 7:00 at the Fish Tank (formerly the zoo.)
As always, please contact me if you have any questions!
Talk with you soon!
