FRST Committee Announcement

FRST Family,

Thank you for your time, feedback, and patience throughout this time where we sought to create a sustainable, inclusive, and fostering system which will provide FRST with longevity for years to come.  The amount of families that reached out with helping hands to assist the SPA, our coaches, and myself for this journey is humbling.

I am pleased to announce that we have formed two committees, whose aim will be to help FRST on its quest to become the best athlete-centered, family-oriented athletic development program in our area.

In the next few hours (during my prep period), I will reach out to the groups individually to schedule a time to meet next week.  This small meeting should take 10-15 minutes where we can introduce ourselves, talk about the job, and how the group will interact.

I'm very thankful for the patience and support given to me throughout the last couple weeks in trying to organize some things.  As most of you know, morning and afternoon practice combined with Spanish class, takes quite a bit of my day.

FRST Culture Committee

The goal of the “FRST Culture Committee” is to organize the programming offered to our families (spirit wear, parent education, social events, communication, and sponsorships).  There are 5 chair positions that will address the aforementioned programming efforts.  The chair positions listed below include 2 people (always have mentor & a mentee). These people will be critical in helping FRST pursue the very best in the indicated field. Our “FRST Culture Committee” will have meeting with HC (head coach) and HAGC (head age group coach) within the first 2-3 weeks of each season, as well as 1 month out from championship season. There will likely be small meetings along the way to also plan logistics. These jobs begin in at the beginning of Long Course Season and will commence the following March. We do, however, expect that these positions could change again at the end of the season as we work out the “kinks.” At that time, chair positions will be re-configured, with heavy preference given to those with experience in the past.

FRST Meet Hosting Committee

The goal of this committee is to ensure a smoothly run hosted meet.  FRST-hosted meets are the lifeblood to the club and providing our club with the means to run a top-notch program.  Our coaches are often very pre-occupied with the meet logistics (USA Swimming / Indiana Swimming compliance, meet entries, meet letter, facility, etc.)  For a smooth transition each time to new volunteers, the coaching staff is very involved with these people.  Each chair position listed below must include 2 people (always have mentor & 1-2 mentee(s)).  This group meets once at the beginning of the season, within the first 2-3 weeks.  If FRST is selected to host a championship meet (ex. Divisionals), there will be an additional meeting 3 weeks beforehand. These jobs begin in at the beginning of Long Course Season and will commence the following March. We do, however, expect that these positions could change again at the end of the season as we work out the “kinks.” At that time, chair positions will be re-configured, with heavy preference given to those with experience in the past.
