Hurricanes Win State!!!

The team won its 4th straight State Championship for small teams in a meet where year round swimmers do not participate.  To be able to swim in the meet the athletes can only compete 9 months out of the year and must attain a qualifying mark for each event.  We were fortunate to take 8 swimmers to the meet competing in 58 events against swimmers throughout the state representing a total of 22 teams.  Team members were Justin Prosser (18), William Scoggins (16), Kelsey Prosser (16), Andrew Morton (15), Geli Brown (13), Patrick Scoggins (11), Korrynn Wenzel (10), Makenze Cochrane (10).

All the swimmers had outstanding races and lowered their personal bests in nearly every race.  Highlights include a 2nd place finish by Justin in the 100 Breast in a time of 1:20.91, a 4th place finish in the 200 Breast, 5th place finishes in the 100 Back and 50 Breast, and had several other strong finishes including a 3rd place finish as part of the relay team.  William had a 7th place finish in the 200 Back, had several other strong finishes, and was part of the relay team finishing in 3rd place.  Kelsey finished 5th in the 100 Breast, finished 5th in the 200 Breast, and had several other strong finishes including a 5th place finish as part of the relay team.  Andrew finished 2nd in the 100 Back in a time of 1:09.60, finished 4th in the 200 Back, and had several other strong finishes including a 3rd place finish as part of the relay team.  Geli was the Seasonal Club State Champion in both the 100 and 200 Back, finished 3rd in the 200 IM and 400 IM, finished 5th in the 400 Free, 100 Free, and 50 Free, and had several other strong finishes including a 5th place finish as part of the relay team.  Korrynn had some very good races knocking time off left and right and was part the 5th place relay team.  Makenze finished 7th in the 100 Breast and had several other strong finishes including a 5th place finish as part of the relay team.
