Top Swimmers Compete this Weekend at Long Center in Al Soltis Memorial Swim Meet

 
CLEARWATER, Fla. – Top U.S. and international swimmers will gather this weekend at Clearwater’s Long Center, 1501 N. Belcher Road, to compete in the Al Soltis Memorial Swim Meet.
The Clearwater Aquatic Team that calls the Long Center home will be well represented among the top competitors for the Jan. 14 through Jan. 16 event. There will be more than 600 swimmers including a number of Olympic hopefuls who will be representing six local swim committees and multiple countries worldwide.
Participants include:
•       20 to 25 Olympic trial qualifiers
•       The Canadian National Junior Team
•       Several national age group record holders in multiple events
•       Olympic hopefuls training for other countries
•       Several American Olympic hopefuls, including Clearwater Aquatic Team’s Becca Mann
•       Clearwater Aquatic Team members Sydney Pickrem, who hopes to represent Canada, and Nick Alexiou, who hopes to represent Greece
•       Two Olympic gold medalists, including two-time Olympic gold medalist Brooke Bennett, and three-time Olympic gold medalist and former world record holder George Bovell
