3rd Annual Joseph Martinez Memorial Tournament

Joseph Martinez Memorial Tournament                                                                                           West Coast Water Polo presents the third annual Joseph Martinez Memorial Tournament.

The first games of the tournament will begin at 10:00am on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Independence High School in San Jose, CA. The tournament will end around 6:00pm. The entry fee will be $20 per player, which will include at least two games per team (with the possibility of a third game), an excellent BBQ lunch, and a Joseph Martinez Memorial Decal. All proceeds/donations will go towards buying shot-clocks and other tournament necessities so that WEST Polo can begin a yearly age-group Joseph Martinez Memorial Tournament for teams to play in from all over the country.

Main Goal of Tournament: Get everyone that was ever touched by Joseph Martinez together to play some water polo for a day and have as much FUN as possible. This is what Joe would have wanted. This is not going to be a super competitive tournament so please come with a relaxed mindset, one dedicated to remembering and paying respects to one of the most influential advocates of water polo that our community has ever experienced.

All teams of all ages are welcome. If you do not have a team, you can simply show up to the tournament and we will find a team for you to play on. WEST would like to have another PARENTS ONLY game this year. Parents would be allowed to play on a "flotation device" of their choice. So hear's what I've got to say to the parents: "Step out of your comfort zone, and have a little fun for one day!" It would be awesome to watch the parents get out there and play some water polo again! All of the children love it! Please let me know if you are interested.

If you will be coming to the tournament, please RSVP to westpolo@westcoastaquatics.org with your team and player names by the end of the day on July 3rd! This way we can get a head count on how many people we will need to provide food for.
