Note From Amy Casey

Hello Barracuda swimmers and families! My name is Amy Casey and I’m thrilled to be coaching the Barricuda’s this summer!

I live in the Edwards Landing subdivision in Leesburg with my husband Jim and our 4 kids; Anna (11), Lydia (9), Liam (7) and Ava (5).  We love the outdoors and swimming is a huge part of the fun, whether in the pool, lakes, rivers or oceans.

I started swimming competitively at age 7 and am proud of my achievements in the water, including several top 25 national rankings and qualifying and competing at YMCA Nationals and the Jr. Olympics. My achievements in the water led to a swimming scholarship to Towson State University.

I transferred to East Carolina University to earn a degree in Education and taught elementary school here in Loudoun County.

My coaching experience includes coaching several lacrosse and swim teams and I have been teaching swimming for many years to area children and adults. I have a vast knowledge of the elements of swimming and have continued to educate myself over the years as techniques have changed. Whether working with beginners or competitive triathletes, I thoroughly enjoy teaching and I am looking forward to working with the Barracudas this summer!
