Day 3 brings home silverware

Day 3 IAG Div 2 and the team brought home the silverware.

Ethan murtagh kicked of proceedings this morning, dipping under the IAG div 1 QT. EThan has been working hard on his technique since hsi last 100 fly outing in may and managed to shave an impressive 4 seconds off pb. In the same event, Liam heylin dropped below the QT in the heats, but enough outside the consideration time for the finals to rank first for the evening. In the final, he dropped from a prelim 1:19 to a 1:17 to clinch 1st and take a speeding ticket.

Phillip towns gave a great account of himself to book a finals spot in the 200 back. Along with Liam, these swimmers went into the final in the middle of the pack, only to come out with gold (Liam) and Silver(phillip) along with IAG div 1 times.

Grainne O Reilly showed her best example of race backcrawl this season to post a 6 second pb. With another year to go to qualify for IAG 1 in the same age group - she has plenty of time to shave a further 1.5 seconds off to reach the elusive end of season meet - well done grainne!

Aislinn Pantony also took 6 seconds off her 200 back to record an impressive improvement in recent months. Her 200IM also showed form knocking 4 secs off PB.

Lily O neill was also successful in lowering her PB by 4 seconds. Having come from Titans in January this represents a further great result at her first national competition.

With the boys not to be undone, Naoise knocked 8 seconds off his 200 back in the prelims - great swim!

Another successful day and a well deserving pizza night tonight for the team on the penultimate night of competition. Tomorrow we have the prestige events - 100 free, along with the 200brs and relays to look forward to. Best of luck!
