SPEEDO Sectional Championships

Team DASH finished 13th overall at the Central Zone SPEEDO Sectional Championships at the University of Iowa's CRWC Aquatic Center over the weekend. 

Top finishes were recorded by former Hawkeyes and current DASH members Byron Butler (Waukesha, WI) - 3rd, 100 m Butterfly, Andrew Marciniak (Gilbert, AZ) 5th, 100 m Breastroke, Jordan Huff (longtime DASH!) 8th, 100 m Free, and a 2nd place by the 400 m Medley Relay of John Colin, Marciniak, Butler, & Huff. The runner-up Medley Relay achieved a USA Swimming National Championship qualifying time of 3:49.44. The Phillips 66 National Championships will be held in Irvine, CA on August 6 - 10. 

Also achieving National level times was John Colin w/a 15th place finish in the 50 m Free. His time of :24.03 qualified for the SPEEDO Junior National Championships, as did his 100 m Free (:52.83) and 100 m Back (:59.19). Juniors are also in Irvine on July 30 - Aug. 3.

DASH will be in action again this weekend as they compete in the Iowa Swimming Long Course Championships at the UofI pool. Top finishers can qualify for the Central Zone Championships (Oklahoma City, Aug. 1 -3), Junior Nationals or the Phillips 66 National Championships.
