Below is a snapshot of what participants will do in Worthington, OH:

 FREESTYLE

  • RACE PREPERATION: Feigen will introduce drills that he does during a meet warm-up to elevate the heart rate and get a good feel for a fast tempo.
  • BODY ROTATION:  A key aspect of Feigens freestyle is proper body rotation.  Learn and practice drills that focus on keeping head position straight and rotating around center axis.
  • FINISH THROUGH THE STROKE: A key component of sprint freestyle is taking the time to finish each stroke to full extension.  Feigen will teach swimmers to reach and move as much water as possible.
  • FINDING BALANCE IN THE WATER: Sutton will break down how to balance in the water by pressing the chest, lengthening the body, and utilizing core strength
  • FEEL FOR THE WATER: Learn and practice how to find the pressure points on the hands and forearms to set up for a high elbow catch, which enables a swimmer to hold more water
  • EARLY CATCH: Perform drills with Sutton that focus on catching the water early in the stroke allowing for maximum efficiency
  • RECOVERY: Sutton will demonstrate how to lead with the elbow during the recovery – allowing for a powerful finish and relaxed, clean entry back into the water

WHAT ARE THEY THINKING: Get inside the minds of two of the best swimmers in the world.  Sutton and Feigen will dissect their stroke and explain what they think about when they swim in practices and races.

WATCH THE CLINICIANS: Observe  Sutton and Feigen swim at full speed and demonstrate a progression of perfectly executed drills to achieve powerful, efficient and fast freestyle.

GET UP AND RACE: Race two of the best swimmers in the world and watch their near-flawless technique - achieved by practicing the same drills they will teach you.

ASK QUESTIONS: Swimmers and parents are invited to ask the clinicians questions during a Q&A session.  Hear the Olympians talk and gain insight into their training regimen, diet and nutrition, and recovery tactics.
