October 2015 Swimmers of the Month
October 2015 Swimmers of the Month
These swimmers were chosen by our coaching staff based on their attitude, attendance, effort, and results in the month of September.  Congratulations to everyone!  We don't yet have a prize for our awardees.  We are working on that and hope to reward you retroactively!

Anna Mills is the Bronze Group Swimmer of the Month. Anna started off the season with a great meet, picking up, right where she finished last season. She is a swimmer that always tries to do the drills perfectly in practice and it is showing up when she races. That kind of work ethic is what has helped her to continue to improve.

Ryan Frasier is the Silver Group Swimmer of the Month. Ryan is new to the team and has adjusted quickly to our team practices. He has constantly been leading the lane in practice, not just in speed but in technique. The month ended with him having a great "first USA Swimming meet", but most importantly he continued to demonstrate a willingness to learn by constantly asking questions about strategies and rules.

Marley Peterson is the Gold Group Swimmer of the Month. Marley has only been swimming with LY for a year but has dedicated herself to constant improvement. This dedication paid off at our Season Opener where Marley competed in her first 500 Free and dropped time in the 6 other events in which she swam. Marley’s teammates appreciate her leadership, her easy-going personality, and her attention to detail. She can always be counted on to know what we’re doing even if no one else in her lane does! Congratulations Marley! Keep up the good work!
Chandler St. Clair is this month’s Varsity Swimmer of the Month. His near perfect attendance* put him in good stead for fast swims at our Season Opener meet. He dropped a total of 72 seconds over a rigorous schedule of 11 individual events, including an astonishing 33-second time drop in the 200 fly. Chandler set realistic but challenging goals for himself, and his efforts in practice reflect his desire to have a successful season. His teammates enjoy his humor and appreciate his upbeat words when practice gets tough. Congratulations Chandler!  *Chandler missed one practice in September due to a birth in the family!

John Michael Gordon is the National Group Swimmer of the Month.  John Michael is on fire already this season.  He has been giving an excellent effort in practice and it paid off quickly with some excellent results at the Season Opener meet. He raced to 7 new best times including a 4-second drop in the 400 IM and a nearly 4-second improvement in the 100 fly.  John Michael comes to practice every day eager to learn and train hard.  Keep it up JMG!!!
