Great Showing at Y Silvers!

It what has become a trend this season, our Swordfish had a stellar showing at this season’s YMCA Silver Championships at Gloucester County Institute of Technology over the weekend!

Due to overcrowding in recent years, the league had made the time standards for this meet faster than in years past. Our 16 attending qualifiers swam a total of 50 splashes (not including relays), of which 38 were Career Best Times! Some notable time drops came from Henry Bysshe, dropping more than 16 seconds in his 200 Fly, and 21 seconds in his 500 Free; and Amber Christy who trimmed almost 10 seconds off her 200 IM; as well as many other big drops by our Swordfish all weekend long.

Henry also set a new Team Record in the 200 Fly, and took a First Place in his 200 Back, as did Grace Panzarella in her 200 Free. All in all, 25 of our 50 splashes were in top scoring places!

But some swimmers were not ready for the season to end: Grace Panzarella swam an amazing 6 new Y State times (50, 100, & 200 Free, 50 Back, 200 Breast, and 100 Fly); joined by Amber Christy (200 Free); Nicole Donnelly (200 Free); Brooke Gardner (200 Fly); Catie Lovett (50 Free); Lisa Pallis (50 & 100 Free); Zach Bezold (100 Breast); and Henry Bysshe (100 & 200 Back) for a total of 15 times earned over the weekend. These swimmers are reminded of the following deadlines to commit for States:

12&Unders- Monday 2/22 by 8:00 pm

13&Overs- Wednesday 2/25 by midnight

Congratulations to all of the swimmers on their many accomplishments this season!
