National – Lexi Plogger. Lexi has 100 % attendance so far this season, and her consistently high efforts at practice are already starting to pay off. At the Season Opener meet, she improved her 100 fly by nearly 5 seconds to win the event, nearly breaking the 1-minute mark for the first time. She also dropped more than 4 seconds in the 500 free and is poised to have an excellent season!
Varsity – Joshua Bodine. Joshua had a spectacular Season Opener meet, swimming to lifetime bests in all 9 events that he competed in. His 400 IM improvement of 16 seconds was particularly notable and a result of the excellent effort he has been putting in. Joshua is an excellent teammate and consistently strives to maximize his talents in the pool.
Gold – Joshua Smith. Anyone who watches Josh at practice can see how dedicated he is to improving. He asks questions to be sure he is performing drills correctly. He takes feedback and translates it into immediate improvement. He has shown improvement in all four strokes, especially his butterfly. In our Season Opener meet, Josh’s drive and focus led to best times in every event he swam. He dropped over 5 seconds in his 50 Fly, 11 seconds in his 100 Back and a whopping 54 seconds in his 500 Free. We look forward to more time drops as Josh continues to push himself to be the best swimmer he can be! Congratulations Josh! Keep up the good work!
Silver – Karsen Maddox! Karsen shows a great attitude at practice every day! She always comes in with a smile on her face, ready to pay attention and learn something new. She did a wonderful job at our Season Opener, her very first USA Swimming meet! Karsen is a hard worker and that is sure to pay off in our upcoming meets. We look forward to watching her and cheering her on as she goes! Congratulations, Karsen! Keep up the good work!
Bronze -- Josh Warren. Within our first month of practice, Josh has done an excellent job of showing his coaches that he is listening and ready to swim during practice. He seems to always be paying close attention to instructions, but if he has a question about how to do a drill correctly - he doesn't hesitate to ask. Josh has a great attitude and we look forward to watching him continue to improve through the remainder of the season. Way to go, Josh!
