Happy New Year from the Orca Board and Swim Coaches!
I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season. It’s time to start thinking about summer swim team, especially after we had thunderstorms in January! It will be here before you know it. The Orca Board has been working this off season to make 2017 even more of a success and certainly hope each and every one who swam last year will return to the Orca team! Please direct anyone interested to our website or have them contact myself or Coach Heather. Here is our 2017 Orca Board.
We will start our year off with the Kickoff Party on Saturday April 22rd at Edwards Seven Bridges in Woodridge from 12:30 to 2:30pm. Venue will be pizza and salads from Little Pop’s. We asked that you bring a dessert. Cost per family is $25. Please pay when registering. We will have our gear rep available for swim suit fittings and Orca gear. Our swim suits, caps and gear will be the same as last year. After an hour of socializing we will open up the pool for the kids to open swim.
We have kept the registration fees the same as last year. However, we did increase the worker buyout from $250 to $375. The buyout covers the time trial, all dual meets and the Girl’s Invite. It DOES NOT cover the Championship Meets. If you do the buyout, and have a swimmer that will be swimming City or Classic, you will need to work a half of a session. In addition, we have capped the buyout to the first 15 families. We did sell out the buyout last year, so act quick if you are interested. If you are not doing the worker buyout, you will need to provide a separate $50 check made payable to Naperville Tennis Club Swim Team. This check is cashed only if you miss a work assignment, or are short on you 6 + time trial commitments. If we do cash the $50 deposit, your child will not be able to swim until another refundable check is paid. This helped immensely last year as we covered most all of our work commitments.
Karen Labiak and Tammy Schultz are the team representatives for the Naperville Swim Conference. I would like to thank them for volunteering their time to attend the meetings and be a conference rep. For those of you who would like to help out, please contact any of the Board members. We really can use your help.
Coach Heather says we hit the water on May 30th. If there are makeup snow days (I just jinxed us) that move us past Memorial day we will practice in the afternoon. If not, practice times are the same as last year. 8 and under’s will swim from 9-10am. Ages 9 and up will swim from 10-11am.
Swim team fees and summer pool fees are discounted until April 6th. You are required to pay a pool fee to become a member of the swim team. The pool fees are:
Family: $415 before 4/8/17, $465 after
Ind Adult $170 before 4/8/17, $190 after
Child Pool Fee: $195 before 4/8/17, $220 after
New to registration this year is a meet only option. This is available for those swimmers who swim Long Course for Mavericks, Fox, Bullets, etc but would like to swim meets for the conference and be eligible for the City Championships. Again, pool fees will need to be paid for meet only and job commitments or buyout need to be met.
Stay tuned, more information to follow.
