February Swimmers of the Month
These swimmers were selected on the basis of the attitude, attendance, effort, and performance in the month of January. Way to go Piranhas!
National Group – Ellie Eckert has been on a tear ever since joining the National group in December. She has increased her performance at practice to become a real animal on distance sets. She dropped 25 seconds in her 1,000 free and has set herself up nicely for some great swims this spring. Go Ellie!
Varsity Group – Ben Davidson. Ben is showing flashes of his potential of late, including an impressive 50.47 in the 100 free in January. He seems determined to do big things this spring and is certainly capable of them! Go Ben!
Gold Group – Grace Warren- Grace was picked for the swimmer of the month for February because of her hard work that she has put in each day at practice. She has come into practice always giving her best even when she is under the weather. The biggest improvement that she has shown was in her 500 free event at the Gator meet. She dropped 25.50 seconds while swimming with her goggles in her mouth. Showing her competition not only will she drop time, but do it in style too!
Silver Group – Emily Judy. Emily has been extremely motivated these last few months. At the January meet, her effort was rewarded with an 8-second improvement in the 50 breast! She also swam her first-ever 200 free and went at 2:55! Though she is out with an injury right now, we know she will be fired up again when she comes back!
Bronze Group – Josh Searwar. Josh has been working diligently at practice and got some excellent results at the Winter Invitational for his efforts. He went best times in every event including a nearly 4-second drop and breaking a minute for the first time in the 50 fly. Keep up the good work, Josh!
