March Swimmers of the Month

March Swimmers of the Month

These swimmers were selected on the basis of their attitude, attendance, effort, and performance in the month of February.  Way to go Piranhas!

National - Josh Hankey.  Josh concluded his final season of high school swimming with a stellar state championship meet. Individually, he finished 3rd in both the 100 fly and 100 back with new personal best times.  To finish off the meet, he anchored the winning 400 freestyle relay with a blistering leg to claim the overall team team title for JF.  Well done, Josh!

Varsity - Tara Enneking. Tara has been having a great season. She has qualified for Y Nats in two individual events. She won an individual state title in the 100 breast for JFHS at 1:05.03, and set a new VHSL 4A state record in the process. Everyday at practice she has a great positive attitude and is always striving to be better while making the sport fun.

Gold - Jack Mills. For the past few months Jack has been dealing with some physical adversity but always came to practice ready to take on whatever that practice called for. He never turned away from a challenge, and through his hard work at practice he was able to break a minute in his 100 free and pick up two Age Group Champs qualifying times at the District meet.  Congrats, Jack!

Silver - Anna Dodge. Our silver group has shown so much improvement over the past few months, making it difficult to decide on just one swimmer of the month. But we eventually decided on someone very deserving. The March swimmer of the month for our silver group is Anna Dodge! Anna is such a hard-working swimmer, always showing us her best work and doing whatever she can to improve her strokes. We anticipate seeing many more improvements from Anna as the swim season continues! Keep up the good work, Anna!

Bronze -  Hannah Qi.  Hannah is always very quiet at practice, but this makes her an excellent listener. She has been steadily improving her skills and technique this year and we look forward to seeing more developments in Hannah’s strokes as we continue on through the remainder of the swim season. Congratulations, Hannah!
