Wahoos Welcome new Age Group Coach - Coach Genna

Wahoos Families,

I am thrilled to announce the newest member of the Folsom Wahoos Coaching Staff.  Genevieve “Genna” Virden was already on deck at JO’s meeting swimmers and she was on deck Friday evening beginning shadowing practices on deck.  Genna comes to the Wahoos with a love of swimming and respect and the enjoyment of working with children.  Genna will shadow when her current schedule allows and she will be completing all her USA Swimming safety and training courses in the coming weeks.

Genna was referred to the Wahoos by Rachael Wells.  Thanks Rachael!

Her Bio can be found on our web page:

Coach Brian will devote more time to his family duties.  He will stay on the Wahoos staff and work as a vacation and fill-in coach when his schedule allows.  The Wahoos were everything Coach Brian hoped we would be and he is happy to return as a fill-in coach.

Please join the Folsom Wahoos Swim Team in welcoming our newest coach.

GO WAHOOS! Coach Kinsey

Genna is so excited to be joining the Wahoos! She began swimming at age 2 in a local community pool and fell in love with the sport. She began competing when she was old enough to dive off the blocks and has had her hair turn green from the chlorine more times than she can count. Genna transitioned from her community pool in the Bay Area at age 8 to swim competitively for a club team. After a short hiatus from competitive year round swimming, Genna swam varsity all four years of high school receiving awards throughout her tenure. Genna went on to move from Santa Cruz to the great city of Los Angeles to attend Azusa Pacific University. She graduated this past May, with her Bachelor of Social Work.

When Genna is not on deck, she loves a good cup of coffee, spending the day at the beach, stand up paddle boarding, or exploring new parts of the Sacramento Area
