Please place in an envelope with NS Sportsweep tickets written on it. I will not be able to accept ticket stubs after that date. The stubs will be delivered to Sport NS on Monday March 27. The draw will take place on April 7, 2017.
March Citrus sale
The third DCSC Citrus sale will take place now until March 27 with a delivery/pick up date of April 6th at 6pm. Please note we have a new local supplier “Gaby’ s Fruit & Vegetables”. He owns a very nice drive in warehouse on 299 Windmill road with a large cold room in the warehouse. No more parking lot pick ups and he is a great supporter of local sports teams fundraisers! You will notice the prices are better for the same fruit and we have a couple of other options, delicious Spanish oranges and clementines. If the pick up date of April 6th doesn’t work for you then you can arrange for a different time with him. If you have a large order then he will delivery it to your home with no extra charge. I think this will appeal to more parents and hopefully bring this fundraiser back to “a must do fundraiser”.
The citrus sale features the same and more fruit choices as the February order: seedless California Navel Oranges, seedless Spanish Navel Oranges, Texas Ruby Red Grapefruit (same as last February), and delicious Spanish seedless Clementines. Both Oranges are bright orange, sweet, very juicy, and most importantly easy to peel. The oranges are 72 per case, the grapefruit 40 per case and the clementines 132 per case.
The costs are:
- California Oranges (72 per case) - $52 per case
- Spanish Oranges (70 per case) - $46 per case
- Grapefruits (40 per case) - $44 per case
- Spanish Clementine (132 per case) - $53 per case
Fundraising credits are the same at $10 per case.
Orders are due on Monday, March 27th with delivery scheduled for Thursday, April 6th at 6pm. Please send your order to Geoff Bennett at firstname.lastname@example.org , 902-266-6191

Finbar’s: Team Fundraiser

635 Portland Hills Drive
Save the date for a night out on Tuesday, March 28. The Crusaders will be hosting a fundraiser at Finbar’s Portland Hills. Fifteen percent of the sales will be donated back to the Crusaders so plan for a meal out with family and friends. We will also have a small silent auction, please email Wendy at email@example.com if you have any items to donate or if you can volunteer during the event.
Reminder - Let’s be Heard! Local Pool Situation
As we all know things are a bit challenging right now in the Halifax area when it comes to pool space.
Dal is currently closed, the Sportsplex is closing for over a year on May 28 and other pools often have issues, be it maintenance, or fires, this year has shown us how limited pool space is in this city.
It is time for all of us to step up and voice our concern as parents of swimmers to our local politicians at both the municipal and provincial level.
You can write your own letter, or feel free to use the template that you can download here.
Swimming is a life-long sport. We need HRM council and Provincial MLAs to invest in a much-needed aquatic facility now.
Please remember to report your volunteer efforts to our participation points coordinator, Kelli Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org.
