Eight EKC Athletes Commit to College Swimming!

Record Number of Empire KC Swim Club Athletes Commit to College Swimming

Empire KC Swim Club is proud to announce that eight team members have officially committed to compete in NCAA collegiate swimming.  Congratulations to these high school senior student-athletes who signed a “Letter of Intent” during “National Signing Day,” at events hosted by each high school.

Zack Andrews of Lee’s Summit West High School will compete for Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis—the Jaguars—in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Chrissie Blomquist from Shawnee Mission East High School will be a Jayhawk at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas.

Sam Drew of Lee’s Summit High School will represent the Salukis at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.

Katie Gray, also from Lee’s Summit High School, will swim for Missouri State University’s Bears in Springfield, Missouri.

Madeleine Hosick of Lee’s Summit West High School will be a Panther at Birmingham-Southern College, located in Birmingham, Alabama.

Ryan Kallenberger also of Lee’s Summit West High School will attend the University of Indianapolis, swimming as a Greyhound in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Jake O’Bryan of Lee’s Summit North High School will compete for the Truman State University Bulldogs in Kirksville, Missouri.

Emma Winfrey of St. Teresa’s Academy will swim with the Tigers at Occidental College in Los Angeles, California.

Per Head Coach Carmen Menges, “These seniors have a tremendous level of commitment, determination, leadership skills, and passion for the sport. We are so proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to their future successes!”
