The Rapids’ own Charlie Ford has been selected for the inaugural Swim BC Open Water Development Camp. She will be one of 15 athletes to attend.
The three-day long event takes place in Kelowna and is a part of the Swimming Canada national initiative to promote international presence in open water events. Similar camps are being held across the country. The new SNC Open Water Coach, Mark Perry, will be in attendance.
Ford has been at the top of her age group provincially for the last two open water championships and won the 2.5 km silver medal at Canadian Age Group Championships in 2016.
