Swimming Canada’s approach to High Performance

This article in Swimming Technique magazine in February, outlines some of the directions Swimming Canada is taking to develop high performance swimming in Canada:

Greenwood Junior Age Group Meet

Volunteers Needed!

If you are attending this weekend’s meet in Greenwood please consider volunteering on deck!
The organizers are in need of timers and senior officials. For this meet the best view really is on the deck!

Send you interest to volunteer to:

Crusaders on the Road!

So it has begun! We have said goodbye to the Sportsplex for the coming year and we are now training on the road.

Please make sure to watch your email for schedule updates. Michelle is on top of all of the various pool situations and she is making sure our kids get the best time in the water for the rest of the season!

We will have to adapt and make best use of the resources we have, be creative and find solutions to our training and preparation challenges, and be self-directed when we don't have optimal space. Here's a lesson in how to do it! Here's the difference when you have a CAN DO attitude.

Donations Needed!

Ken Dunn, NS Champs level

We need your generous donations! The Hospitality Suite is getting ready for the Ken Dunn NS Camps on July 7-9 co-hosted by the Crusaders and Swim NS. With many families already in vacation mode, the Sportsplex closed, and each squad practicing in different pools it is hard to gather food donations. We need cash and gift cards so we can purchase the items we need!

Please visit the website and sign up for donations. Each dollar donated = 1 participation point towards next season.

Cheque/subway cards and cash, please drop off at the Dartmouth Dental Centre: 118 Wyse Road, next to Shopper’s Drugmart: Attention: Stephanie Sealy. Dartmouth Dental Cenre is open 8:30 am – 5:00 pm on Monday and Friday and until 7:00 pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

E-transfer can be sent to Maria Leah Bautista: If you have any questions please feel free to email Maria.

Congratulations to our Canada Games Athletes!

The 2017 Canada games roster was recently announced and DCSC features prominently on the list.  Hard work and perseverance is central to earning an invitation to this list of Nova Scotia's top young swimmers.   As president, I would like to extend my  thanks and congratulations to Riley, Matthew, Lucas, Luke, Sophie and Marion.  Train hard, strive high and make yourselves proud.

Good luck this summer!
