August Swimmers of the Month
These swimmers have been selected by our coaching staff for their attitude, effort, attendance, and performance in the month of July.
Gold - Max Schonfelder. Max has been doing so well in his first Long Course season. He has been working very hard to improve his technique in order to be faster in the water. He had a time drop in 100% of his events at Age Group Champs, finishing 2nd in his 50 Breaststroke, 6th in the 100 breast, 5th in the 50 fly, and 5th in the 50 free. Max's hard work in practice has definitely paid off.
Varsity - Houston Crowder. Houston had a great long course season. His intensity and commitment towards swimming has been steadily growing, his hardwork this summer payed off at the Summer Awards meet. He was able to drop in 100% of his swims. Significant drops were 3.0s in the 100 back, 2.1s in the 100 breast, 2.3s in the 200 free, and 8.8s in the 400 free. To top that off Houston dropped a whopping 4.27 in the 50 free to lock in a 27.8. Keep your eyes on this kid, he is investing the time and working hard towards achieving his goals!
National - Ellie Eckert. Ellie has been working like a machine all season with her aim being to qualify for Y Nationals. She achieved that goal at the Summer Awards meet in the 200 free, blasting a 2:11.88 and setting new 13-14 team records in the 200 and 400. The next week she celebrated her 15th birthday, added the 400 free Y Nat cut at Sr Champs, and made the B final. Ellie is on the rise and she has the work ethic to take her anywhere!
