2016-2017 Academic All-Star Wrap-up

At Poseidon Swimming, our swimmers are rock stars in the pool and equally talented in the classroom. The following is a list of our swimmers' academic successes for the 2016-2017 school year. 

White Group

Ethan Campbell, 1st grade-Weaver Elementary School, earned the Core Value award for demonstrating the core value of honesty.

Landon Nelson, 2nd grade-Elizabeth Scott Elementary, earned A/B Honor Roll all year.

Blue Group

Alyssa Kennedy, 1st grade-Flat Rock Elementary, earned all A Honor Roll all year.

Izzie Lindsey, 4th grade, Cool Spring Elementary, achieved straight A’s for the school year and perfect attendance.

Junior Group

Andra Berney, 4th grade-Evergreen Elementary, earned All A Honor Roll for the year.

Spencer Campbell, 4th grade-Greenfield Elementary School CBG, earned A/B Honor Roll and the “ROAR” award for demonstrating the core value of Responsibility.

Katherine Galang, 3rd grade-Marguerite Christian Elementary School CBG, achieved A/B Honor Roll all year, and received a Core Value Award for Achievement.

Yasmin Garcia, J.G. Hening Elementary, earned A/B Honor Roll all year. She also received the Core Value Award and achieved perfect attendance for the school year.

Jaedin Harris, 6th grade-Tomahawk Creek Middle School, achieved the Presidential Academic Award for earning straight A’s all year, was a Core Values recipient for 6th grade, Great American Scholarship and Student of the Month.

Clara Nelson, 3rd grade-Elizabeth Scott Elementary, earned All A Honor Roll all year, and was accepted into the accelerated math program.

Ashlyn Pew, 3rd grade-OB Gates Elementary, earned A/B Honor Roll and was Clubber of the Year for Anchor Club (Church Club).

Avery Pew, 6th grade-Bailey Bridge Middle School, earned the Distinguished Achievement Award for Science, the Merit Award (CORE Values award for Respect, Responsibility, Accountability, and Organization), and a CORE Value award for accountability for the second quarter of school.

Isabella Pew, 2nd grade-OB Gates Elementary, earned A Honor Roll all year, achieved perfect attendance and was the STAR Student of the Month for the month of February. She is also the Gold Medal Winner for Anchor Club (Church Club).

Ryan Kennedy, 4th grade-Flat Rock Elementary, earned all A Honor Roll all year and a perfect score on the 4th grade Reading SOL.

Landon Mazsure, 5th grade-Gates Elementary School, earned A/B Honor Roll for the 4th nine weeks.

Piper Price, 4th grade-St. Edward-Epiphany School, earned Top Honor Roll (all A’s) for the year, the Presidential Fitness Award, and the Outstand Effort Award in Reading and PE.

Alannah Simmons, 4th grade-Cool Spring Elementary, received all A's this year and has been accepted into accelerated 5th/6th math for next year. 

Bronze Group

Graycen Armstrong, 6th grade-Midlothian Middle School, earned all A’s and a B+ for the year, and also earned perfect attendance.

Cassie Bauer, 5th grade-Grange Hall Elementary, achieved Honor Roll status all year, scored a perfect on her Reading SOL and successfully passed the 6th grade math SOL “advanced” as a 5th grader.

Colleen Blakeney, 7th grade-Chickahominy Middle School, earned Principal’s List and Character Award for Responsibility.

Landon Broocke, 6th grade-Robious Middle School, achieved straight A’s all year, earned the English award, and a REIGN award for RESPECT from the school. She also earned a perfect score on her English SOL, and Pass-Advanced on her Math SOL.

DJ Kennedy, 6th grade-Pocahontas Middle School, earned All A Honor Roll each quarter and for the entire year.

Courtney Phillips, 6th grade-St. Michael’s Episcopal School, earned Honor Roll all four quarters.

Spencer Robinson, 4th grade-Collegiate School, earned Honor Roll for the year.

Lexi Stephens, 5th grade-Grange Hall Elementary, achieved Honor Roll status all year.

Sydney Young, 7th grade-Tomahawk Creek Middle School, earned Straight A’s for the year.

Silver Group

Madelyn Campbell, 7th grade-Robious Middle School CBG, earned all A’s for the year, a Cum Laude award for her performance on the National Latin Exam Level 2, and an Achievement Award for Excellence in Art.

Ryan Hogan, 7th grade-St. Bridget’s, earned A/B Honor Roll for the year.

Gold Group

Grayson Daughtry, 8th grade-Bailey Bridge Middle School, earned Academic Achievement for Straight A’s in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.

Aidan Flanagan, 7th grade-Tomahawk Creek Middle School, earned straight A’s for the year.

Lorenzo Galang, 7th grade-Matoaca Middle School CBG, earned the President’s Award-Gold/High Honors Award for having a 3.5 GPA or higher, achieved a perfect SOL in Algebra 1, was inducted into National Junior Honor Society, and was part of the All-County Middle School Band.

Cassandra Johnson, 8th grade-Bailey Bridge Middle School, completed middle school with Academic Honors Award and earned all A’s in her Honors classes. She also received Recognition for Exemplary Conduct and displaying the Core Values of the school, and also earned a Science Merit Award.

Gracie Lee, 7th grade-Tomahawk Creek Middle School, earned the President’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement for earning all A’s for all marking periods.

Marc Macomson, 7th grade-Midlothian Middle School, earned A/B Honor Roll and an Academic Award of Achievement in Honors Math.

Jack McCann, 8th grade-Robious Middle School, received the President’s Award for Academic Excellence for having achieved a 4.0 grade point average or better in every grading period for all three years of middle school. He also received a perfect score on the Reading SOL and an advanced score on the Math SOL.

Jubilee Whitmer, 8th grade-Midlothian Middle School, earned the 8th grade Science Achievement Award.

Senior Group

Isabelle Bauer, 10th grade-Cosby High School, received the Sophomore Visual Arts Student of the Year award, a Silver Key Scholastic Art & Writing Award for the Southeastern Region for her Tessellation painting, had a scratch board piece chosen for display at the Sun Trust Youth Art Month Gallery in Richmond, was inducted into Beta Club, National French Honor Society and National Art Honor Society and achieved a perfect score on her History SOL. She also illustrated a children’s book, “Socco and Slurpie in P.E. Class” which is now sold on Amazon.com.

Phil Costin, 11th grade-Cosby High School, was inducted into the National Art Honor Society, and a piece of his work received a commendation in a National competition. 

Adam Kerr, 10th grade-Cosby High School, was inducted into the Beta Club.

Eloise de Landevoisin Campbell, 9th grade-Trinity Episcopal School, achieved Honor Roll all year.

Danny Lynch, 12th grade-Trinity Episcopal School, made the Headmaster’s List every quarter for all four years of High School. Danny also achieved Eagle Scout in July.

Colby Mills, 10th grade-L.C. Bird High School, earned straight A’s for the semester and final grades, and is ranked #2 in his class out of 423 students.

Tori Knachel, 11th grade-James River High School, earned straight A’s for the 3rd year in a row, was the only student at JRHS to receive the William and Mary Leadership Award during the Junior Class Awards ceremony, was a Junior Marshall for the 2017 class that just graduated, which means she is ranked in the top 30 for the 2018 graduating class, and was also inducted into the Beta Club and National Honor Society.

Kaylie Lundgren, 11th grade-Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School, was inducted into the National Honor Society, the President of ASL (American Sign Language) Honor Society, and is an AP Scholar with Honors.

Noah Nichols, 9th grade-Stewart School, earned Honor Roll status all year.

AND, as of current reports, our Senior level swimmers earned an average GPA of 4.2.
