Great job by the GOAL swimmers at the Futures Championships in Lewisville (Dallas), TX this weekend. Swimming at the meet were GOAL Senior National group members Hannah Hailu, Payton Hall, Delaney Kottke, Bella Pantano, Liz Richardson, Rush Clark, Conner Funke, Colin LaFave, and Nick Soltys. The team finished 11th place in the combined team standings, scoring 148 pts, 11 points behind Rec-Plex Sharks (St. Louis, MO) for 10th. The GOAL boys finished 5th in the boys team standings. GOAL finished the meet strong on Sunday. The girls 400 Medley Relay team of Richardson (1:07.01 PB), Hall (1:20.80), Hailu (1:05.84) and Kottke (1:02.29) scored 6 pts with a 14th place finish. The GOAL boys then followed that up by winning the last event of the meet, the boys 400 medley relay, in an upset. The GOAL boys' winning time of 3:57.57 was 0.04 ahead of 2nd place Aquajets (Minneapolis, MN), the overall combined standings winning team. Relay members were: Colin LaFave (1:00.10 PB), Conner Funke (1:05.22), Rush Clark (58.00), and Nick Soltys (54.25). Another meet highlight was Conner Funke's win in the 200 breaststroke on Saturday night, swimming a US Open qualifying time of 2:20.66.
